The history of EuroBLECH at a glance

1969
The first show “First International Sheet Metal Exhibition” takes place in London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre. 70 exhibitors present machinery and equipment for the forming and fabrication of sheet metal. The conference “Sheet Metal in the Seventies” is held alongside the exhibition.

1970
Just one year later the 2nd edition “Second International Sheet Metal & Metal Forming Exhibition” takes place in Manchester.

1974
After a short break the show moves to continental Europe, and the exhibition - now just called “BLECH” - opens its doors in Zurich’s “Züspa-Hallen” in Switzerland.

1978
“BLECH” relocates to Germany where most of its exhibitors and visitors are at home. Taking place at the exhibition grounds in Essen the show grows over the years to more than 700 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors.

1992
Having outgrown the exhibition centre in Essen, the organisers move the show to the world’s largest exhibition facility in Hanover. For the first time, over 1,000 exhibitors present their products at this technology exhibition - now called EuroBLECH - and more than 50,000 visitors from 40 countries attend the show.

2006
The 19th edition of EuroBLECH achieves unprecedented success: Featuring over 1,400 exhibitors from over 40 countries, more than 64,000 visitors from 73 countries and 130,000 m² hall space (gross) the world’s leading trade exhibition is now larger and more international than ever before.
