Travel & Visa Information

Hanover, with the world’s largest exhibition grounds, is famous for hosting leading international trade fairs. This friendly, cosmopolitan city has an excellent infrastructure in place and an efficient transport network ensuring easy access from all over the world.

How to reach us

EuroBLECH is held at the Exhibition Grounds in Hanover. International flight connections as well as the excellent local infrastructure make the venue easily accessible. Not sure how to get to the exhibition grounds? We have all the information you need whether you arrive by train, car, plane or local transport.

By Train

Convenient and easy to reach by train, "Hannover Messe/Laatzen" is the exhibition grounds’ own station. From there, the covered Skywalk takes you to entrance West 1.

Visit the Deutsche Bahn website to enquire about connections and book tickets online.

Please note: There will be additional train stops of some ICE high speed trains at the station "Hannover Messe/ Laatzen" during the exhibition days.

By Car

Hanover’s official Low Emissions Zone is roughly defined by the express ways (Schnellwege) encircling the city centre. It is indicated by signs reading ‘Umwelt-Zone’. Only vehicles which meet certain minimum requirements are permitted to enter the zone. To demonstrate compliance, an official permit (disc-shaped sticker) must be displayed on every vehicle's windshield.

The TÜV Nord website includes further information regarding the Low Emissions Zone as well as an order form to obtain an emissions sticker.

By Plane

Direct flights to Hanover are available from numerous major cities. For more details on flights please refer to Hannover Airport's website.

Shuttle buses operate from the airport (Terminal C) to the exhibition grounds (Entrance West 1). The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

The journey from the airport to the Exhibition Grounds by taxi takes approx. 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Alternatively the suburban railway (S-Bahn) line 5 (located between Terminals B and C) will take you from the airport to the main railway station (approx. 16 minutes).

Visa Information

To ensure you obtain your visa before the exhibition starts, we recommend that you initiate your visa arrangements well in advance. Applications can be made as early as six months before the time of travel. Residents of countries in the EU do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

Step 1

Check if your country requires a visa. The Federal Foreign Office provides an up-to-date list of all countries that do and do not require a visa for Germany.

Step 2

If you need to obtain a visa, please enquire at the respective mission well in advance of your departure date for specific visa requirements (documents to submit, deadlines etc.).

Step 3

Submit your visa application, together with all necessary documents, in person at the German mission responsible for your place of residence. Please note that all required documents must be submitted at the time you request your visa.

The German Foreign Office has informed the German Embassy and Consulate Visa Sections all over the world that, effective 24 July 2013, an official invitation letter from the trade fair organiser is no longer required when applying for a trade fair visa. Furthermore, foreign exhibitors at German trade fairs who present an official exhibitor pass are exempt from the visa fee.

Should an official invitation letter still be required, please register for EuroBLECH and once you have purchased your ticket, follow the instructions in the guide document on how to receive the letter:
